Performs month end close activities for a portfolio of long term care centers. Prepares account analysis, researches and determines validity of account transactions and prepares recommendations for adjustments including accruals and reclassifications. Updates and explains significant fluctuations using various analytic tools. A working knowledge of account reconciliations, financial analysis and accepted accounting standards and practices is required. The successful candidate will also have good computer skills and be proficient with Excel, Word and other MS Office applications. Experience using a general ledger system such as Lawson is helpful but not required. QUALIFICATIONS: The job requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Experience working as a staff accountant is helpful as is any other previous accounting experience. Good communication skills and a willingness to provide customer service to administrators and other internal customers is necessary.
