This individual will prepare GAAP and Statutory tax accruals as well as preparing corporate income tax returns. Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited too: - Prepare and review separate company GAAP and Statutory tax accruals for all assigned companies as well as prepare the tax rate analysis - Reconcile and analyze deferred tax accounts - Work with appropriate accounting staff to obtain required accounting data. Review data for accuracy and completeness - Execution and evidence of Sarbanes-Oxley controls - Documentation and control over FIN 48 analysis - Preparation or review of corporate income tax returns - Prepare tax package to be used as a source material for preparation of quarterly estimates as well as final tax returns - Reconcile actual current tax to current tax accrual (i.e. true-ups) - Ensure that work papers and electronic files appropriately support the tax return - Prepare Federal estimated tax and extension payment computations for all assigned companies for inclusion in our client's Consolidated Tax Return payments and extensions. - Prepare and review year-end reconciliations - Prepare payment and receipt vouchers for internal and external payments and settlements. - Assist tax audit team in preparation for and respond to various tax audit inquiries This position requires: -Three to five years of tax reporting, insurance tax experience or financial services industry tax experience - Four year degree in Accounting or other Business related field - Knowledge of corporate income tax laws -Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word products - Proficiency in using on-line research tools - Strong oral and written communication skills - Knowledge of accounting terminology, concepts, practices and procedures - Knowledge of tax accounting rules and concepts -Teamwork-Strong ability to work with others and shares responsibilities with other members of the tax group Location: Wilmington, DE Compensation: $60,000 - 80,000 Principals only.
