World leading Fortune 500 company is seeking a Controller with a strong manufacturing background.
The Controller is a business partner working hand-in-hand with plant manufacturing, marketing and procurement management in their daily decision making needs. The Controller is driven by the need to add value to the business. The Controller is foremost a business generalist that understands the factors that drive the success of the business and is a key part of the management team that interprets and influences those factors to our competitive advantage. The Controller will help lead our efforts to achieve business process redesign within the finance function and will work with plant management to achieve similar success in all other areas of our business. The OSM strives to redesign processes to achieve the most efficient and effective results while maintaining the highest customer focus. The Controller is an individual that is committed to adding value to their business unit and is willing to be evaluated by their contribution to the bottom line.
Controller activities include, but not limited to the following:
Provide business support for plant manager, sales, production and purchasing staff
- strategic planning
- performance analysis & reporting
- new business analysis
- cost analysis using activity based costing
- sales and profitability reporting
- supply chain management
Manage customer credit and collection
- policy maintenance and establishment of new customers
- oversight of collection activities performed by customer service representatives
- ultimate responsibility over collectability of A/R
Oversee information services function
- maximize performance of the company’s World Business System
- implement and participate in the design/development of new systems
- supervise IS initiatives and provide backup
Perform general accounting
- oversight of supplier payments
- monthly close process and financial statement preparation
Job Requirements :
- 5 to 10 years of manufacturing experience in the financial, accounting, cost management, or related field
- Supervisory responsibilities
- Bachelor degree in accounting (preferred), finance, or related field
- Evidence of prior involvement in several of the roles required by the position
- Willingness to relocate to multiple locations within North America a plus
Location: Rochester, NY
Compensation: $80k - $100k
