A premiere community bank located in the heart of Eastern Oregon is seeking an experienced Chief Credit Officer.
Job Summary: Responsible for administering and overseeing the banks・ entire loan portfolio. Exercises administrative control over all phases of the loan department・s operations, directly or through subordinates.
Essential Duties:
- Develops and recommends loan portfolio objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures that loan services are provided to loan officers, including credit analysis, evaluation of financial statements, credit investigations, and collection of overdue loans.
- Keeps the President/CEO and board of directors informed of any material considerations affecting the loan portfolio, loan policy, and individual loan transactions.
- Provides guidance to officers engaged in lending activities.
- Oversees reporting of all lending activities.
- Supervise preparation of lending area reports for monthly board of director packet
- Assists in the training of loan officers.
- Reviews new loans and delinquent reports to ensure that current policies and procedures are being followed.
- Exercises the usual authority of a department head concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary actions, and terminations.
- Coordinates the dissemination of loan policies and procedures, and ensures that deviations from policy are corrected.
- May be asked to serve on other business organization committees.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor・s degree in business or a closely related field.
- Minimum fifteen (15) years experience in banking with emphasis in credit administration, lending and loan review.
- Ability to develop and maintain organizational structure.
- Knowledge of current management and leadership methods and practices.
- Ability to direct and supervise the work of others.
- Knowledge of lending laws and regulations as well as best practices in industry.
- Strong analytical and credit skills, and a good knowledge of bank services.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate a variety of activities.
