GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTANT We are seeking an qualified General Ledger Accountant for our client in Anchorage, AK DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilites include but not limited to: Performs month end general ledger reconciliations for Bank Statements, Accounts Receivable, Prepaid Expenses (Insurance & Other), Fixed Assets Prepares and posts various journal entries during the month. Under direct supervision, to timely and accurately perform accounting duties and to perform related duties as required. Work with external payroll and benefit providers. Post allocations of payroll, payroll expenses to various cost centers. Post month end accruals for payroll, vacation. Prepares approved adjustments to accounts. Processes Deposit refunds. Provide Check Request for approval or Balance Due letter. Works on pre-close of Control books for month end close. Provide support, documentation, input and analysis for budget and audit purposes. Excellent communication skills; addressing financial concerns, payment schedules, pay-back agreements, other questions, and referrals to other personnel as necessary. Provides verification, payment status and account details. Performs related duties as required by CFO and Controller Performs clerical duties, including maintaining filing systems. Various other accounting duties and projects as needed. REQUIREMENTS 4 year degree in accounting with 2 years of relevant experience or 2 year degree in Accounting and 5 years of relevant experience. Previous experience required and/or a demonstration of understanding and application of basic accounting principles, including journal entry debits and credits and an understanding of the difference between assets, liabilities, and equity. Customer service, data entry, and cash handling experience requested. Attention to detail. Ability to work independently, takes initiative, and handles multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision. Willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed.
