Responsibilities of Position: - Under the direction of a Principal, the Senior Manager is responsible for auditing, accounting and/or tax assignments. He/She will oversee multiple engagements of medium to high complexity with an emphasis on quality standards and timely completion. The Senior Manager keeps the Principal informed of any and all important issues that arise during the engagement. If an issue does arise he/she will analyzes the problem and recommend a solution. - The Senior Manager coordinates the completion of engagements of moderate to high complexity and reviews areas of the engagements. - The Senior Manager assists Principals in resolving client issues and problems; compiles research and prepares reports on various audit issues. - The Senior Manager is expected to actively participate in the Firm’s business development efforts. He/She positively represents the Firm at business and community functions in order to maintain current, acquire new and expand existing client relationships. - The Senior Manager will represent the Firm through involvement in professional, recruiting, charitable and /or civic organizations and activities. Supervisory Responsibilities - The Senior Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of Managers who in turn supervise other team members. The Senior Manager carries out all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm’s policies and applicable laws. - Specific responsibilities include: participating in the hiring and terminating of team members; planning staffing levels, implementing new Firm initiatives; preparing and conducting performance appraisals for Managers and staff; supervising, coaching and developing Managers and staff; providing direction, guidance and constructive criticism; rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing complaints and resolving employee problems. Experience Required: - Successful candidate will have a minimum of seven years of public accounting or related experience along with a demonstrated record of progressively increasing knowledge, skill and responsibility. - Sound written and verbal communication skills, an ability to work independently or as part of a team and the capacity to appropriately interact with all levels of Firm management and staff, clients and other external business contacts are required. Specific Skills Required: - Must have demonstrated computer skills and experience with accounting software. Education Required: - A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance is required as well as an annual minimum of forty (40) hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.
