Responsibilities:
Compile and distribute financial information for internal and external purposes on each construction project.
Monitor, control and report home office expenses.
Develop revenue / cost of sales / expense analyses, models, reports and presentations.
Create comparative analyses of financial information on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis – detailed elements of the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
Identify trends and developments in the business.
Establish and maintain positive communications channels between the field project operations personnel and home office.
Analyze bids, quotes, and estimates for reasonableness and profitability.
Review and comment on project contractual terms and conditions, ensuring compliance.
Provide suggestions for improvements – operational and financial in nature.
Develop annual budgets; income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.
Perform financial forecasting and reforecasting as required.
Provide periodic projections for various financial and/or operational components; revenues and costs.
Participate in the development of long term strategic plans.
Design, draft and publish practices, procedures and policies related to the business unit operation, project spending/tracking and internal controls.
Perform GAAP research to determine and support accounting treatment of various issues that arise.
Requirements
All candidates MUST have the following experiences to qualify for consideration
BA/BS degree, preferably with a concentration in finance / accounting or equivalent experience. CPA desirable.
Must have worked for underground utility company or infrastructure company
Strong oral & written communication skills
Exhibit exceptional professional judgment
Be able to multi-task & prioritize with out significant direct supervision
Skills: Solid grasp of financial statements and interpretation thereof; development and review of bid and estimating process; contract terms and conditions review; contract / % of completion accounting; intimate with computerized project accounting systems in a construction environment.
The position will be responsible for the direction and supervision of others (accounting manager, contract administrator, accounting clerk.
