Excellent opportunity for an Alaskan finance & accounting professional with a growing ANC that has multiple subsidiaries.(Please do not apply if you are not qualified.)    JOB TITLE:             Controller/Director of Finance   REPORTS TO:         CFO   FLSA STATUS:        Non-exempt   SUMMARY: Provide leadership and coordination of financial planning, accounting, and tax functions. Ensure company records conform to local, state and federal compliance requirements. Provide analytical support and assistance to the CEO and Board of Directors.   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: •      Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions. •      Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments. •      Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget. •      Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service with external agencies. •      Oversee daily operations of the finance/accounting department. •      Manage the preparation of financial statements and forecasts. •      Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions. •      Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements. •      Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop five year and ten year business plans for the company. •      Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. •      Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives. •      Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements. •      Other duties as assigned.   ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: •      Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff. •      Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff.   KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: •      Knowledge of federal and state contracting procedures, DCAA compliance and audit procedures.  •      Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets. •      Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. •      Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.  Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. •      Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting with 8-10 years in senior-level finance or accounting position. CPA and masters degree desired. •      Flexible and open attitude with analytical thinking ability   WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and traveling to remote locations.
