The Controller for this company would be responsible for directing the organization's SEC and Management accounting and reporting functions including international accounting functions. These responsibilities include establishing and maintaining the organization"s accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Directs preparation of financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to top management. Directs and oversees the agency accounting and reinsurance accounting operations. Responsibilities: - Oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of internal and SEC financial reports - Direct international accounting activities - Preparation of monthly Board of Director financial reports - Establish and maintain systems and controls to assure the Company is in compliance with SOX requirements - Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile special projects Qualifications: - 7+ years of insurance experience required - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related major - CPA and/or MBA preferred - Strong GAAP/SEC technical skills - Must be self-motivated - Ability to travel - Possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills - Must demonstrate exceptional analytical and quantitative skills - Must be able to prioritize tasks and work under pressure. - Must be able to understand and be able to communicate industry rules and regulations. - Must demonstrate good leadership ability. - Must be able to provide clear, direct, authoritative direction to others. - Must have excellent communication skills both, verbal and written. - Must have demonstrated management ability Location: Philadelphia Suburbs Compensation: $130-150K Principals only.
