Instructor III needed for National Guard Youth Challenge Academy, Honolulu, to enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education through use of robotics and engineering. Position includes Curriculum Development and Classroom Instruction. • Curriculum Development: o Working with curriculum development experts, tailor a standard robotics teaching curriculum for each class’ skills, ability, and time available for instruction. o Plan practical learning experiences consistent with specified program objectives; use available technologies and robotics to enhance practical applications • Classroom Instruction: o Direct and conduct appropriate learning experiences to meet the needs of all students. Maintain group interest and control o Modify lesson plans to meet time constraints, class schedules and adjust lessons to enhance group and individual student interest o Maintain military practices and courtesies as prescribed by the program o Provide instruction using a technology-focused curriculum that is modified as needed for the NGYCA • Appropriate Certifications (recommended): o Bachelor’s Degree in a science, math or engineering curriculum o Certification as a Quality Assurance Manager or equivalent o Certification as a Hazardous Materials Manager or equivalent o Certification as a Ground Safety Manager or equivalent o Completion of Military Instructor Curriculum or equivalent • Appropriate Experience (recommended): o Five years’ experience working with robotics, avionics, engineering or related engineering field o Quality Assurance experience as a Collateral Duty Inspector or Quality Assurance Representative o Instructor experience at military occupational school or appropriate secondary education facility  Experience as an Instructor in an Instructor’s Training Curriculum if possible o Experience in ground or aviation safety related position o Experience as a Hazardous Material Custodian Please refer to our website for more info at www.ukpik.com under the careers tab and apply online.
