Alaska Executive Search is recruiting and screening all applicants for the Chief Executive Officer position for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Alaska. The position is located in Anchorage. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for developing and driving the strategy and planning of the organization in collaboration with the Board of Directors, Community Boards, Staff and Volunteers. The CEO position requires knowledge and experience developing and implementing a fund development plan combined with the ability to establish a diverse donor base of corporations, individuals, and foundations to build loyal relationships with key donors to ensure resources are in place to develop and carry out the strategic plans of the organization. The CEO will have the ability to facilitate the development of a statewide Board of Directors and assist with the development of Community Boards by developing and executing a recruitment and retention plan committed to building a sustainable organization. The CEO must have a solid record of hiring, leading, motivating, developing and retaining staff so each member of the team is passionate about what the organization has achieved and are committed to working effectively toward continual improvement. The CEO will oversee strategic marketing to mobilize volunteer mentors, secure partnerships with the private sector and build effective relationships with the media resulting in strong community support. The CEO will develop organization’s financial and technological systems and establish operational benchmarks. The CEO will participate in nationwide initiatives and programmatic innovations with the goal of maximum impact within local agencies. Bachelor’s Degree and management experience required. Not-for-profit Board experience a plus. Qualified candidates will posses five years experience in successful board development, employee talent management, partnership development as well as strong financial management and fund development experience. Must be able to provide tangible examples of program/process development leading to organizational growth and demonstrate success leading a multifaceted team and managing and growing a geographically dispersed multi-site organization.
