This sales-driven Manager oversees production, retention and profit for the Mid-Market commercial lines business. We need a professional at the highest level of technical underwriting ability to represent Westfield among a defined territory of agencies. You will communicate between the agencies for the mid-market segment and make decisions regarding risk acceptability and pricing, as well as provide agency service and control of expenses. The selected professional will underwrite and advise on large and/or complex commercial lines accounts, all of which will be new business, to include applications or endorsements and/or renewal requests for existing business as it develops. While determining pricing, you will evaluate exposure to loss and accept/reject risk on behalf of Westfield and operate under company guidelines and limits of authority as outlined for this position. You will collaborate with sales agents and make joint sales calls, as well as provide initial and follow-up services with our loss control representatives. The ability to work with all levels of employees and management in other departments (Claims, Loss Control, Premium Audit, Underwriting, etc.) is paramount. The Manager is a subject matter expert for large premium accounts and must be a "go to" communicator for both internal and external sources. Requirements: A Bachelor's/Associate degree from an accredited college/university is needed and a minimum of 5 years of P&C commercial underwriting experience  - OR- 5 or more years P&C commercial underwriting and production experience handling accounts over $25,000 in premium size and AU, CIC, or CPCU designation.  The Mid Market Field Manager must possess advanced underwriting technical knowledge and be able to effectively manage and achieve and produce larger than average account size.  Additionally experience in account collaboration experience, proven business and sales acumen, and experience with facultative reinsurance is a must . You must have a driving record that conforms to our policy guidelines and valid driver's license. Some overnight travel is required.
