Work Schedule: 2 weeks on/2 weeks off
The Competency Assurance Project Leader will lead a cross-asset team whose purpose is to develop and implement safe competency assurance practices and work processes on the North Slope of Alaska consistent with the Competency standards. The role will lead a cultural change in the way competency assessments are safely planned, scheduled and executed at all sites and develop performance metrics to drive efficiencies within the program. This project lead will also provide independent analysis and guidance on project issues and risks, providing recommendations on alternatives and solutions as appropriate and provide oversight and direction to 30 competency assurance assessors.
Accountabilities Include:
The role involves business analyst and project management tasks including but not limited to:
Independently manage simplification activity through process improvement, standardizing and/or consolidating.Drive the accurate tracking and reporting of delivery progress for the leadership team, and communicate status with stakeholders and governance bodies as appropriate. Oversee benchmarking external to understand industry standards. Develop project execution plan with milestones.Develop and document a work process for Competency Assurance in all units. Manage a change management plan as the process is introduced to each unit. Identify resource needs to implement work process. Develop and deliver training required to implement Competency Assurance. Assist the Renewal Manager on activities, such as communications/reporting, document creation, etc. as needed.

*Significant process development experience is highly desired
*Ability to build consensus
*Strong impact, interpersonal, networking and communication skills and able to make a significant contribution on a slope wide scale
*Able to manage multiple/conflicting priorities with a strong track record of delivery
*Strong analytical skills
*Attention to detail and able to perform in a deadline orientated environment
*Skillful knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g. risk, issue and assumptions management, change control and project reporting)
*Excellent knowledge and experience of planning and scheduling, gained in a project environment
*First hand experience of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
*Experience of management reporting, ideally on project delivery status
*The resilience and flexibility needed to succeed in a demanding and challenging project environment, including the ability to manage conflicting priorities
*Influencing skills needed to challenge unrealistic planning and resource projections
*Influencing skills needed to ensure standards are adhered to, despite competing needs from projects/business, with flexibility to adjust as appropriate
*An ability to work on his/her own initiative, and to take the lead in driving planning activity across the project
Education / Certifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required
PMP certification preferred
Minimum 5 years project management experience
