Minimum 5 years experience in the Commercial Construction market is required. Summary: Directs task & activities of workers/crews for commercial parking lot or road construction projects by performing the following duties personally or thru leadership of existing crew structure. LISTED BELOW ARE SOME OF THE REQUIRED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Must be familiar with plans and specifications prior to project start, determine sequence of operations required, manage crews, determine needed equipment and subcontractors to meet required deadline as contract specifies. • Consult with team leaders and subcontractors in planning and executing work methods, interpreting specifications and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays of project. • Order tools, materials, and equipment in a timely fashion as required to project schedules. • Inspect work in progress to ensure the workmanship meets specifications and construction schedules. • Consult with team leaders to resolve work force grievances, scheduled time off, or to resolve work force issues and concerns. • Consult with immediate team leaders, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors to resolve construction issues pertaining to materials, equipment, access, scope of work changes to minimize schedule impacts. • Review and collect timesheets, foremen daily’s, project logs, and approve accuracy. • Insure all personnel adhere to company policies, and safety procedures. Other Supervisory Responsibilities: Superintendent will be responsible for 1 to 3 crews and operations of those crews. Includes training and planning of crews, directing work; involvement in appraising individuals and crew performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications: The applicant must be capable of performing each duty satisfactorily. REASONING ABILITY: You must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. You must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,, diagrams, or schedule form. The ability to read blueprints is a must. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 4year Construction management degree or 5 years experience in the Commercial Construction Market. Basic computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, decimal, and proportions to practical situations. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Ability to write reports, logs, and business correspondence. You must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from personnel, customers, managers, subcontractors and engineers.
