JOB TITLE: Seasonal Horseback Camp Manager REPORTS TO: Tour Operations Director PAY: Base pay starts at $14.00 an hour but can be more depending on experience. Performance bonus plus tips. GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for the efficient operation of the company’s horseback camp. Ensures tours run smoothly and guests have a safe and fun experience. Supervises horseback camp staff, monitors horses’ health, and guides groups through a Historical National Park. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1) Train and supervise horseback camp staff • Assist in the planning and implementation of staff training • Instruct horseback guides on how to provide guests with exceptional tours • Counsel staff in its daily responsibilities • Generate the staff’s weekly work schedule • Complete monthly staff performance evaluations • Attend all management and staff meetings 2) Provide excellent customer service • Provide guests with a memorable experience by giving 3.5 hour tours • Ensure enough staff and supplies are available to make the guests’ experience a good one • Enforce rules that are designed to keep the guests safe 3) Manage the physical facilities and equipment in the horseback camp • Teach and monitor proper use of equipment • Manage daily care of the camp’s horses • Review horses for health needs, behavior issues, and tack needs • Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed • Conduct daily inspection of area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair • Assist in packing all materials and supplies at the end of the season QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience in supervising other horseback staff is desirable • Current certification in horseback riding or the equivalent in experience • First Aid and CPR • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Must possess the desire to be a strong team player PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB: • Endurance-including, but not limited to, the following: prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and stretching • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs above your head Note: The statements in this document are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees.
