Credit Union 1 is currently hiring for an Assistant Branch Manager for the Fairbanks First Ave Branch, located at 909 First Ave. The qualifications for an Assistant Branch Manager are a minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial institution, at least 6 months of experience as a teller, and 1 year of experience assisting with consumer loans. In addition, this person must possess excellent cash handling skills, sound judgment, the ability to understand written and/or verbal instructions, and the ability to handle members in a tactful and confidential manner. Duties for the position include assisting the Branch Manager in the daily operation of the branch and assuming the responsibility of the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager. This person will also be responsible for assisting in the training of new tellers; opening and closing the branch as scheduled; supervising branch staff and assisting branch staff with the performance of their duties by initialing checks, reviewing questionable items and handling member complaints and inquiries. Hours for the position are Monday – Saturday; 5 days a week; weekend work is required. Employees can expect to work an 8 hour shift that could begin as early as 8:00am and end as late as 6:30pm.
