Commercial printing co. in Bend is currently recruiting for a Estimator/Print Production Manager. This temp to hire position is in the print production department and reports directly to the General Manager. A position description is as follows: Summary: Supervise 5-7 employees, oversee job entries, production and delivery of printing jobs, including quoting and customer service. Responsibilities: • Handle all production and customer related issues including entering jobs into job tracking data base, distribution of work tickets to employees, and monitoring of all employees in production to ensure the timely delivery of orders. • Minimum 55 hour work week or as instructed by the General Manager. • Responsible for customer service at the counter and over the phone, handling all questions and concerns about jobs in production, along with quoting and estimating new jobs. • Responsible for purchasing and inventory, including monitoring supply levels, paper ordering, and maintenance and equipment repair. • Responsible for employee management, including hiring, scheduling, terminations, and performance appraisals with consent of General Manager and CEO. • Responsible for estimating, which includes reviewing jobs, costs of production times, and follow up with customers. • Responsible for customer retention, which includes reviewing customer sales and customer sales figures to ensure continued business. Qualification Requirements – 3-5 years experience in managerial/supervisory positions, extensive knowledge of digital and offset printing and pre-press work. Preferred working knowledge of MAC and PC versions of Quark, Photoshop, Corel, Illustrator, and In-Design. Able to read and understand written work sheets and sample boards.
