Under the general guidance of the HR Manager, the Safety Manager creates and maintains a culture of safety by ever-increasing safety awareness and cooperation with other departments. This position will work in conjunction with other departments to ensure safe use of fleet and equipment as well as safe behavior by employees. Requirements * Ability to use extensive working knowledge of all safety regulations and properly apply them to the landscaping industry (ie traffic control permits, safety spots). * Good working knowledge of landscape equipment preferred. * Must have knowledge and ability to thoroughly investigate, track, coordinate and/or report all accidents and incidents to the satisfaction of management and various regulatory agencies. (DOT, OSHA, Workers Compensation, Light Duty Program, etc) * Ability to communicate effectively/ professionally both orally and in written format to internal and external customers. * Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and follow through on all assignments. * Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment. * Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership. * Able to analyze severity of situation accurately and make recommendations to ensure/maintain a safe work environment (both on the spot and during pre-construcation site visits for hazard, safety and risk evaluation). Bachelor’s Degree preferred but will accept appropriate experience in lieu of education. Minimum 2 years experience. CSP a plus. Must be computer literate. MUST be bilingual in Spanish/English.
