* Responsible for ensuring the proper administration, handling and resolution of all assigned claims (both lost time and medical-only. * Complete claim contacts and investigations; document thoroughly and accurately. * Handle full caseload of workers' compensation files including reserving, determine coverage and compensability, supervise legal defense and medical management, and bring claims to appropriate resolution. * Represent company as hearing advocate. * Communicate the appropriate claim information to the assistant for support activity. * Field phone calls with highest-level customer service and best claim practices, attempt to handle all inquiries or action items on a claim in a timely manner. * Mentor less experienced examiners; serve as expert reference for both procedural and jurisdictional claims information * Close claims with appropriate resolution (RTW, settlement, termination of benefits, court order, etc.). Position Requirements: * Candidates must have extensive knowledge of medical terminology, workers’ compensation laws, and benefits. * Candidates must reside in and be licensed in the state of Nevada * Candidate must possess a current hearing advocate license in the state of Nevada * Candidate must have 5+ years experience adjusting both lost time and med-only claims, and experience as a hearing advocate. * Computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. o Pleasant and professional telephone skills. o Ability to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, fast paced environment. o Candidate must be self-motivated and require little supervision. o Must be able to obtain license and certifications as necessary. o High level of customer service o Organizational skills and time management skills are a must.
