We have an opportunity for a Controller - For this position, we are looking for someone who loves working in an environment of innovation and excellence and wants to become an important part of our growing success story This individual will be responsible for the accounting information processed through our centralized accounting system, developing and enhancing accounting policies, systems and procedures, as well as overseeing the accounting of the investment portfolio. S/he will manage day to day work on all aspects of the general ledger including monthly/year-end reconciliation. While supervising an accounting team, the Manager is responsible for the accuracy of all balance sheet accounts, and preparing monthly and yearly roll forward of all high balance asset and liability accounts. Additionally, s/he will work with Research Department in reconciling Grant balances against GL grants payable and grant commitment expense balances. The Manager will also manage the preparation of audit work papers for year-end audit and profit sharing audit, private and government auditors as well as internal auditors. Requirements include but are not limited to: -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Further education preferred. -2 + years if supervisory experience -5+ years of relevant accounting experience. Public Accounting Experience is a must -Experience with General Ledger Management and Annual Audit Preparation. -Expertise in accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements. -Understanding of various computer systems and databases -Proficient in Microsoft Office -Team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of staff and effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast paced environment.
