We are currently seeking an Energy Efficiency Professional/Energy Engineer to work onsite at Langley AFB in Virginia.
The selected candidate will work onsite at the customer’s facility to provide comprehensive energy management services. Primary duties will focus on energy management, including program management services, but work will also include developing facilities energy efficiency improvements, developing distributed generation opportunities, developing renewable energy projects, providing energy training, performing design reviews, analyzing energy and utilities data, recommending improvements to utility procurement and operations, and related duties. The candidate will identify energy conservation opportunities and help facilitate the implementation of projects, initiatives, and programs that reduce energy consumption and demand, save money, and help the environment. The candidate will augment existing customer capabilities, work with both the customer and Tetra Tech in a team framework, and be an on-site action agent to facilitate energy and cost savings.
4-10 plus years of experience in energy management/engineering; strong HVAC background; experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, commissioning, and building/system optimization is a plus. Previous experience working at Federal / DOD facilities, particularly at Air Force bases, is a plus. Certified Energy Manager designation is preferred.
Requires knowledge of utility information systems, energy management technologies and metering; excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills; proficient computer skills including the use of spreadsheets; especially Excel, and other database applications is required.
BS in engineering or energy-related field is required but military or civilian experience working at Air Force bases or other Federal installations and/or experience in energy-related field may be acceptable.
