Position Description Will review water level data sets and tidal zoning correctors. Will input data into water level data management system, and review deliverables such as 6-minute water level data, tabulated products, tidal datums, and discrete zoning. Once validated, additional analysis will be conducted to produce usable products. This includes computing additional tidal and geodetic datums, developing and publishing benchmark sheets to the database and web site, assisting in the development of revised tidal datum determination procedures, calculating harmonic constituents, and responding to user data and product requests. Additional tasks involve providing support and oversight in the review of deliverables and communicating on the status those deliverables. Required Skills 2 years experience in physical science applications with degree, 4 years without degree. Experience with spreadsheets or statistical software necessary. Knowledge of oceanographic principles/practices to process/analyze data. Proficient with MS Office suite. Experience with or knowledge of any GIS package, particularly Mapinfo or Arcview. Knowledge of database and SQL desireable. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills. Education BS in physical science preferred – oceanography, meteorology, physics, geophysics, or related discipline.
