Benefits: 401(k), Sick/Vacation (Pro-Rated) Brief Job Description: Position Summary: Responsible for carrying out general student recreation activities including competitive and non-competitive sports, arts and crafts, outdoor recreation programs and other activities in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives. Job Requirements: Education and Experience Requirements: 1. Associates degree or one (1) year related experience working with youth; or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties and functions. 2. Must have a valid Alaska driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record. 3. Must be able to obtain commercial drivers license (CDL) with passenger endorsement, within ninety days of employment. 4. Shift is Monday & Tuesday from 1pm to 10pm, Friday 8pm to 12am. Preferred: 1. Bachelor’s degree 2. Previous experience within a recreation program in a school or park system. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Ability to maintain confidentiality and display ethical behavior. 2. Ability to obtain a CDL with passenger endorsement within 90 days of employment, maintain an acceptable driving record, and CDL medical certification. 3. Ability to effectively supervise students. 4. Ability to obtain CPR/First Aide Certification within 90 days of hire 5. Ability to obtain water safety training within 90 days of hire. 6. Ability to participate in and coach recreation activities. 7. Ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with all departments. 8. Ability to maintain professional appearance of work presentation. 9. Ability to work as a member of a team of individuals working toward a common goal. 10. Ability to successfully complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives. 11. Ability to meet attendance requirements for the position.
