NATURE OF WORK: Responsible for the organization’s overall workforce career development, preparation, readiness, and succession, through comprehensive needs assessment and identification; research, development, and design; and career counseling, consultation, and mentoring. Works closely with the DC Learning & Development Team and Southcentral Foundation (SCF) managers in fostering employees’ professional growth and progression. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, & ABILITIES: Basic office organization (to include basic administrative support skills such as reception, filing, use of office equipment, typing correspondence, etc.). Computer skills (strong knowledge/skill of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point, with MOS certificated preferred). Documentation skills (to include learning and development documentation and related reporting). Strong career development, vocational and occupational/career counseling, and mentoring skills (demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate, identify, design/develop, advise, guide, and align with learning and development opportunities). Trainer and/or educator skills (to include facilitation skills, presentation and interpersonal skills, consulting skills, networking throughout the organization, and strong follow-up skills ensuring fast and efficient completion of tasks). Project/program organization skills. Ability to work independently and the capability to efficiently make decisions independently. Ability to work interdependently within a team, and give and receive feedback and recommendations, as related to all areas of career development, progression, and retention. Demonstrated ability to think strategically to plan for Southcentral Foundation’s workforce readiness and development needs (to include review and implementation of strategic goals) Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards; and Knowledge of 1974 Privacy Act is required since use of patient record is an integral part of the position and privacy of individuals must be protected to the fullest. QUALIFICATIONS: SCF programs are established for the purpose of serving a primary population comprised of Alaska Natives who are affiliated with the Cook Inlet Region Inc. (CIRI), and Alaska Natives and American Indians within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of the CIRI members, and of the general culture and needs of Alaska Natives and American Indians. Master’s degree in training, education, vocational/occupational/career counseling, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Two (2) years experience in the field of training and development, education, or vocational/occupational/career counseling. Certificate by ASTD (American Society of Training and Development), or like industry-recognized organization, in career development/talent management or equivalent (or ability to obtain within six months).
