Alaska Tech Prep helps students develop career awareness, earn high school and college credit simultaneously and gain skills and credentials needed to work in Alaska's high skill, high demand careers. This position as a full-time Tech Prep Specialist will continue the work that is under way with SE school districts in building Tech Prep programs. This position works with Tech Prep staff, school districts, postsecondary institutions, apprenticeship programs, government, and business to continue building a statewide system for delivery of Tech Prep programs. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: * Bachelor's degree required, preferably degree in career & technical education or related area. * Current knowledge of career and technical education standards, assessment and outcomes on state and national levels. * Knowledge of career and technical education statistical reporting and employer needs surveys and reports. * Work experience outside of education * Demonstrated knowledge of computer software, spreadsheets and word processing. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to coordinate multiple projects and start simultaneously. * Demonstrated skill in leading, directing, training and facilitating discussions among diverse groups of people. * Ability to analyze complex situations and develop strategies for resolution. * Knowledge of techniques to persuade and influence others, organize resources, and establish priorities. * Demonstrated decision-making skills. * Ability to negotiate or mediate between parties so that an agreement may be reached and documented. *Travel throughout SE communitites required.
