Field-Based Assessor Head Start CARES Study (September - November 2009) Survey Research Management is collecting data for a study that investigates how preschool programs can most effectively support children’s social-emotional development. The primary role of the Field-Based Assessor is to schedule site visits and conduct student assessments with preschoolers. Some administrative tasks such as distributing and collecting forms may be assigned as well. Assessors will work around 15 hours per week at a rate of $26 an hour. Training will be paid. QUALIFICATIONS Required · BA/BS degree in psychology, early childhood education, child development, a related field or equivalent knowledge of early childhood education · Experience implementing standardized assessments with preschool children · Strong interpersonal skills with both adults and toddlers · Willingness to work in unfamiliar neighborhoods and school settings · Access to a reliable computer and strong computer skills · Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable car, and ability to travel throughout the district · Ability to work well both independently and under direction · Ability to work mornings from October through Mid-November · Ability to attend a week-long paid training in the NYC area in late September · Ability to complete up to 20 hours of paid preparation in September Preferred · Master’s degree in early childhood education, early intervention, educational psychology, developmental psychology, or related field. · Bilingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish · Experience working at Head Start schools or a similar preschool setting · Experience implementing one-on-one assessments with preschoolers · Experience implementing the Woodcock-Johnson, Challenging Situations Task (CST), Expressive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test (EOWPVT), Emotional Recognition Questionnaire (ERQ), and/or similar assessment tools · Recent DOE security clearance (criminal history check) and TB test · Availability for re-testing in March-May 2010 If your background matches all of the “Required” qualifications, please send a résumé and contact information for three professional references to Franziska Zenhäusern (Project Coordinator) at hsjobs@srmboulder.com ASAP but no later than July 24th.
