Company Information: Sure Prep Learning provides supplemental tutoring services to students in grades K – 12 throughout Arizona and California. After over four years of outstanding results and consistent growth, the company is now expanding into Nevada. As a result of funding from No Child Left Behind, tutoring is provided free of charge to qualifying children from low income families or in underperforming schools, often in students’ homes or on-site at the schools. The entire service – including books, progress reports, and diagnostic assessments – is financed by the government. Since many parents from eligible districts would like to help their children but have little or no awareness of the program, a sizable portion of our activities focuses on community outreach, often in predominantly Hispanic areas. Role Functions: This position reports to the Las Vegas Regional Coordinator and must: - Communicate our program’s characteristics to parents in a highly engaging & enthusiastic way. - Attend information events during open house nights at Elementary & Middle Schools, prepared and on time. - Canvass by visiting homes in target neighborhoods, ensuring that parents are familiar with the free tutoring program for their children. - Show flexibility and understanding during interactions with parents, children, and school district employees. - Provide accurate feedback from the field. - Attend training sessions and rapidly adapt to new rules. - Accurately maintain paperwork and a record of hours. The block radius where qualifying children live is very specific, parents are extremely open to receiving information on a free program that will help their families, and you would receive substantial support before you perform any outreach activities. Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED. - Excellent interpersonal & communication skills. - Fluent Spanish is a must. We prefer bilingual fluency in English/Spanish. - A naturally sociable & outgoing personality, with a true passion for engaging people. - Must be empathetic and find personal fulfillment in enriching the lives of at-risk children - Dependability and strong time management skills - At ease speaking with parents in unfamiliar neighborhoods - Neat and presentable appearance, as expected from all company representatives Preferred Qualifications: - Some college studies or Bachelor’s degree - Experience with community outreach, public speaking, or sales - Experience with children, educational settings, or non-profit causes - Ties to the Hispanic community Salary: At Sure Prep Learning, we value our talent and recognize people as the cornerstone of our success: - For neighborhood outreach activities, compensation usually averages between $20 - $30 per hour, though excellent recruiters exceed $30 an hour. Recruiters are paid a flat hourly rate of $10 and a $3 - $5 fee paid per child enrolled (siblings from a single family are counted separately). - For on-site School Fairs, the flat hourly rate is $15. - Mileage to and from work locations is compensated. - Training hours are compensated. - Apart from a high performance bonus, we also offer a bonus for recruiters who focus on building relationships with the community and display genuine enthusiasm & dependability. - A bonus will be provided for any quality candidates referred by our outreach staff. - In the coming months, we will be looking to internally promote an Outreach Recruiter to Sr. Field Manager. This person will have greater management responsibilities, including coordination, hiring & training of recruiters, and participation in sales strategy. Additional Information: This is designed as a part-time job and offers great flexibility; however, you can partake in outreach activities on a daily basis if it suits you.
