About our Company Guaranteach is looking for teachers, tutors and mathematicians to become a part of our 2009 teaching team. We are looking to hire a group of professionals with educational backgrounds to join us in creating short math tutorials for our online educational product. Our goal is to present a concept in different ways, each one presented by a variety of individuals with a range of teaching styles. This year we are working on our curriculum for mathematics, K-12, beginning with Algebra and Geometry. About the Role Qualified individuals will have a strong grasp of mathematics through the high school level and experience with teaching or tutoring. Creativity, reliability, and comfort on camera are also highly desirable characteristics. Individuals with a background in the sciences or other fields are also encouraged to apply, provided that they have the requisite math skills and teaching experience. Numbers of weekly hours will be flexible, but contributor will need to be able to commit to a consistent rate of production. Our office is located in downtown Baltimore, but provisions can be made for a contributor to work from home once a standard of content quality has been demonstrated. Contributors will be paid on a per piece basis, with weekly bonuses based on quality of content. Methods of Contribution Video Content Creation: Contributors will design and film a series of 2-3 minute videos. For each video, contributor will be provided with a description of what is to be covered during the lesson and will be at liberty to communicate the material in his or her own way. Contributors are encouraged to use a variety of materials, teaching methods and filming vantages, including but not limited to: live screen filming, power point, ms paint, use of manipulatives, whiteboard work, classical pen and paper, narrative, character, dialoguing, area models, real world context, etc. Video Review: Contributors will review videos based on content and mathematical correctness, as well as tag videos based on predetermined criteria. Total amount of compensation will vary depending upon the composition of tasks taken on by the contributor. A full time contributor will earn 100$/day on average. Initial contracts will be configured for the term on one month, subject to extension based on satisfactory performance under the initial term.
