LMATA Government Services, LLC a small business in government contracting is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to work full-time in support of a long-term contract. The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a L Clearance. The Solar Systems Department is seeking an experienced technologist to plan and execute testing and evaluation of photovoltaic modules and systems; support modeling and analysis of photovoltaic systems data; conduct experiments on new power conditioning equipment; and investigate and analyze aspects of high penetration of solar energy on our nation's electric grid. The successful candidate will conduct a variety of tasks associated with field testing at the PV array and system levels and laboratory tests at the module, array, inverter, and system level. Field test coordination includes generating field test plans, including preparing equipment; overseeing logistics and conducting field exercises; and assuring data quality and readiness for analysis. Field data collection requires site visits to make specific measurements as well as the installation and remote oversight of continuous sensing and data acquisition equipment. Laboratory testing requires the use of laboratory test equipment including power supplies, utility power equipment, IR cameras, solar trackers, optical and spectral measuring equipment, and data acquisition systems. Once laboratory and field test data have been collected, the candidates will be required to perform analyses and develop reports about module or system performance. Many modeling and analysis software tools have been developed already; however, the successful candidates will be required to make modifications and develop new tools as necessary. Some travel is required for this position. Skills/ Requirements • At least an AS or BS degree in engineering, math, science, or significant relevant experience • Demonstrated experience in electrical testing, basic programming, and data analysis. • Experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation, especially for outdoor or field test applications • Experience with photovoltaic cells, modules, and/or systems ? in terms of design, integration, instrumentation and monitoring, and data collection and analysis. • Expertise with Microsoft Excel, including macro development, and either Visual Basic or LabView. • Basic understanding of error/uncertainty analysis. • Ability to receive a DOE security clearance. • To be considered for this position, all candidates must submit a current resume.
