BASIC FUNCTIONS
Complete responsibility for the development and direction of all activities related to the construction of photovoltaic projects, including planning, management, coordination, and financial control in order to achieve overall job success and owner satisfaction. Must have the ability to operate remotely as a self starter without daily oversight by management. Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer, Commercial Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Negotiating cost-effective subcontract and material purchases
- Work closely with Designers to obtain most efficient layout and construction of photovoltaic systems
- Set up and implementation of job procedures and techniques to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval and material delivery
- Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management on a weekly basis
- Organize and chair regular meetings for management and subcontractors
- Managing multiple projects in various phases of project development: design, procurement, and construction
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects is a requirement
- The Senior Project Manager will be the single point of contact, and accountable for all aspects of the project, including profit and loss
- Requires a high degree of client interaction
- Drive project to maintain schedule using Microsoft Project as a reporting tool
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with Subcontractors, Owner, and Architect
- Work with Superintendent to develop safety plans and to implement safety procedures
- Manage, train, and supervise project team according to Company policy
- Review contract conditions; ensure compliance with all contract terms
- Supervise proper documentation of all significant project events, e.g. accidents, delays, Change Orders, etc.
- Financial responsibility includes preparation of monthly invoicing to all clients
- Direct preconstruction services and activities
- Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontract bid packages
- Assist with business development and participate in job interviews
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Demonstrate strong leadership and teambuilding skills
- Proven self starter with strong follow through and reporting skills
- Minimum of 5 years as a Senior Project Manager in commercial construction, including 5-8 years of commercial building experience
- Must hold Electrical License
- Ability to provide guidance and motivation in a challenging and autonomous environment.
- Experience in photovoltaic systems is a plus
- Thorough understanding of all project management control systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of Master Builder a plus
- Degree or experience in Engineering, or Construction Management
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
