Utah Masonry Council is in search of a highly-motivated licensed structural engineer with 4 years of substantial masonry background. The Objective: To give instruction on how to better-understand masonry codes and issues. To answer technical questions from design professionals and construction personnel. To increase continuity and synergy between architects, engineers, and mason contractors. To deliver presentations to architects, engineers, and inspectors. Overview of Technical Director Position: The bulk of the format will be setting up and delivering one-hour presentations throughout the State of Utah. Flexible part-time hours are available, working approximately 20 - 40 hours a month. Several PowerPoint programs are already prepared and ready for presentation. It will be necessary to develop new presentations, as needed. Required Skills: Excellent presentation skills, experience in answering technical questions regarding masonry issues, i.e.: mortar, grout, bracing, movement joints, designing water-resistant walls, masonry detailing, etc. Preferred Skills: sense of humor Position is open until filled Compensation: Hourly Wage Based on Experience This is a part-time job.
