Prevent any infestation and or bacterial contamination of the process or the products.
Constant emphasis must be placed on cost reduction, training of employees, and subordinates, the evaluation and updating of all SOP's and procedures relating to equipment cleaning functions.
' Quality Assurance is accomplished through Auditing, Training, Communications, and taking an active role in Quality programs to enhance the Process and Finished Product.
' Advise and take a proactive management role in HACCP, SSOP's, and Food Safety.
' Assure the company that the process is within USDA/FDA/State requirements and compliance, and to serve as an interface with any Federal / State agency, and inspectors during routine inspections.
' Assure the company that products produced are within specifications, and to work with Corporate Quality to establish, review, update procedures as the process or products change throughout the operation.
' Auditing and training on a continual basis and specific programs for certification of employees to assure quality aspects in the operation conduct quality awareness.
' To assure the cleanliness of the equipment, factory and grounds to meet all Company, Federal, and State requirements.
' Take corrective action to different types of problems that may be encountered to detect the root cause of the problem. Make recommendation for correction and total elimination by communications, maintenance of uniformity with in the department, and installing quality awareness attitude with all employees to do it right the first time.
' Develop the Department Operating Budget and establish goals.
' Participation as a member of the Factory Staff in developing plant wide programs and goals.
' Assure the Company that the process is within USDA/FDA/State Requirements and compliance, and to serve as an interface with any Federal/State Agency, and inspectors during routine inspections.
' Escort inspectors from outside agencies through the Factory, report on their findings, and follow through for corrections in a timely manner.
' To keep an open line of communication with all personnel during stressful situations and involve other departments on needed basis.
' Ability to work flexible schedule including days, afternoons, midnights, and overtime.
' Inspects products and equipment for conformity to Federal, State, and Local Sanitation laws and Company standards.
' Prevent infestation and bacterial contamination through evaluation and updating of Standard Operating Procedures.
' Required to maintain a capital and operational budget.
' Directs cleaning of equipment and work areas for all shifts and maintains inventory of supplies to complete said tasks.
' Conducts chemical safety training for all within the department, proper use of chemicals to avoid accidents.
' Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions by conducting audits.
' Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
' Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
' The incumbent must have a good knowledge of Food Manufacturing Practices, and the ability to make sound decisions, capable of communicating and reporting functions both verbal and written, and a personality to create a team attitude.
' The incumbent must possess a BS degree in Food Science, or Food Nutrition, or a related field.
' The incumbent ideally would possess a background in Microbiology, Chemistry, as well as Sanitation regulations.
Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Compensation: $80,000 to $110,000
