• Report to and work with the Business Unit Leader to provide technical leadership for the MEP division;
• Mentor and manage staff on projects;
• Function as the lead designer for manage mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion for clients, including building owners, architects, contractors, and other engineering consulting firms;
• Build and sustain client relationships and drive and grow market share while maintaining a pipeline of work;
• Prepare proposals, budgets, estimates, contracts, and change orders for MEP projects;
• Prepare and review MEP documents, including drawings and specifications, which comply with
federal and state regulations and provide interpretations for clients;
• Promote and maintain a collaborative work environment between architects, other engineers, other divisions of the firm, vendors, and clients.
Qualifications/Experience required include:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master’s Degree preferred;
Professional Engineer License in the State of Illinois or ability to obtain it required; licensure in other states, including
-Indiana a plus, LEED Certification preferred;
- Ten plus years preferred, experience in a MEP design or consulting environment or related field with mechanical system design experience;
- Proficient in AutoCad MEP and/or Revit; other current industry software; and Microsoft Office;
-Highly self-motivated, self-directed, team orientated, and exceptionally attentive to detail;
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; ability to discuss or explain design
features or issues with engineers, architects and other drafters and designers;
- Ability to identify issues dealing with conflicting designs, unsuitability of conventional materials,
coordination requirements, etc.
-Ability to effectively prioritize workload, delegate responsibilities to and direct MEP project team/staff, and execute tasks in a fast paced environment;
- Flexibility to work extended hours and travel, as business requires.
