Provides support to the Gas Turbine Director of Engineering to further develop and improve existing the product lines by providing a quality product that meets industry, customer, and company standards. Assists Sales in developing marketing strategy for the Gas Turbine ancillary equipment systems. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible for the reading and applying specifications, ordering sheets and related documents towards the Gas Turbine ancillary equipment. 2. Develop Foundation loading data based on customer specifications and building codes. 3. Perform calculations as necessary to ensure the integrity of the design and quality of performance of Gas Turbine ancillary systems. 4. Interface with the Design/Drafting group to incorporate Structural engineering concepts, designs and modifications. 5. Works with the Engineering group and provides new discoveries and relevant information to engineering for development of the ancillary equipment. 6. Interfaces with the Program Management group to help insure on-time and on-budget delivery. 7. Handles assigned customer inquiries and resolves product problems as needed. 8. Assists in resolving field and shop fabrication related problems. 9. Keeps abreast of design techniques and material and component advancement. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities a. Thorough knowledge of structural steel engineering, sales, and manufacturing processes as related to heavy welded steel ductwork and support structure fabrication. b. Thorough working knowledge of AISC steel design specifications and practices. c. Thorough working knowledge of Building code specifications (UBC, IBC, ASCE7, etc.) concerning wind/seismic loadings and design. d. Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) computer programs such as STAAD, RISA or similar with the ability to perform dynamic analysis. e. Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple projects, organize work and direct projects to completion. f. Knowledge of ASTM material standards and corrosion protection methods. g. Ability to communicate well, verbally and in writing. 2. Education/Training/Experience: A minimum B.S.C.E. degreed individual with 3 years or more experience in structural steel engineering. 3.
