Responsibilities include directing and scheduling activities of a large fine dining waterfront restaurant / resort located on the upper Eastern Shore of Maryland. We are 45 minutes from Wilmington, DE & 10 minutes from Middletown, DE & 30 minutes from Dover, DE. Duties include the organizing of stock, inspection of health and safety precautions and solving employee or customer problems, supervise the training of new staff members, organize shifts and promote good teamwork. One of the restaurant manager's most important jobs is customer service. It is important that customers receive prompt service in a professional, friendly manner, with enough staff to serve them in a timely fashion. This restaurant manager needs the expertise and patience to deal with customers and facilitate a positive dining experience so the customer leaves happy and will return to dine there again. Other duties include: · Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the restaurant including wait staff scheduling, cleaning, floor plan lay-out and table settings. · Adheres to company policies and procedures, including labor regulations and liquor laws. · Managing the reporting in the computer system and maintain accurate record keeping. · Hiring, training, supervising and motivating of wait staff. · Keep departmental labor costs to a minimum. · Working with the chef or cook to communicate menu plans on a daily basis, for special events or occasions or for groups or parties. · Purchasing items including beverages, equipment and supplies. · Work with accounting office and administration office effectively. · Meeting, greeting and getting feedback from customers. REQUIREMENTS: § Three (3) to five (5) years experience in the Restaurant Industry. § Self motivated, able to multi-task and maintain a high energy level. § Good communication skills, oral and written. § Will be required to work evenings, holidays and weekends.
