All of my friends and old roommates have paired off and are living with their significant others. I spent the last year paying too much in rent for an apartment that isn't ideal for me to commute from. Try as I might, I haven't been able to find anyone through any of my networks that needs a roommate for this fall, so I'm giving CL a shot. My first apartment after college was found through a CL ad, so hopefully I can have good luck again. About me: 27 year old single professional male. I grew up in Massachusetts, went to school in NH, and ended up back here afterward. I've been living in the Boston area since late 2004, and will probably stay here for a few more years before I head out to the 'burbs. I work normal hours at an awesome company located in South Boston. I'm currently commuting there now from Allston, which is not ideal, like I mentioned above. I tend to be very clean and neat, and like things to be well decorated and inviting. I quickly got tired of living like a college student. When I moved to my current apartment I went out and bought a lot of stuff brand new (sofa with chaise, high-top table with stools, leather coffee table / ottoman, matching end tables, etc.) I have a good group of friends who live in the area, so I wouldn't be at the apartment all of the time on the weekends, but I tend to be around on weeknights. I'm into skiing in the winter, cycling in the summer, and generally doing anything that involves the outdoors, BBQ'ing and beers included. Speaking of beer, I'm sort of a beer geek. I home brew once in a while and like to have some unique craft and micro brews on hand. Don't worry, I don't sit around and get sloppy drunk. I can't think of anything else to mention about me, but feel free to ask. About YOU: I'm looking for a mid-late 20's female to live with. I've lived with a bunch of different guys throughout the years, and no matter how clean they claim they are, and how much I redouble my efforts to keep the place clean, it always ends up looking/smelling like a guy house. When I visit my friends that are women, however, there is a good chance that while looking lived in, the place will be clean and neat. I think this stems from guys my age being more content to live like they are still in school. I also want this to look like a home, not a college crash pad. You should also be some sort of professional, work normal hours, pay bills on time, have your own friends, hobbies, interests, and a similar sense of cleanliness and respect for the home. No live-in significant others / cats, please. Please be down to earth and friendly, I don't want to just have a stranger living with me, I hope we would be able to go grab a drink or watch a DVD like non-CL roommates would. About the place: It doesn't exist yet! Once I find the right roommate, I want this to be a mutual search so that you don't feel like you are moving into my space. On nice days I cycle to work, but for the winter I would like to be somewhere on/near the Red Line. Anywhere from Davis Square to South Boston would be OK with me, really. We would likely be looking for a 2 bed / 1 bath for $1500 or so. I would really like to have some sort of outdoor space for a grill. I've been in a complex for the last year and miss coming home from work and throwing some burgers and veggies on for dinner. Other than that, I'm not expecting modern or luxurious, just clean and well-maintained. I would really like to find a place to spend more than a year at, I've moved too many times since college. Hopefully you feel the same and this works out! My current lease is up on August 31st, so ideally we would find a place that is available August 15th. If you agree with the following sentence, we will likely get along great as roommates: When cooking dinner, the meal isn't over until all the dishes are washed and the kitchen is left clean. Any other questions/comments/concerns, shoot me an email! it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests mass
