If the person selected is not affiliated with the Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA), he or she must become a member in good standing within 31 days of beginning work. DEPARTMENT: Health & Human Services HOURS OF WORK: Monday – Thursday; between the hours of 8am-6pm, Friday; between the hours of 8am-5pm. LOCATION OF WORK: 825 L Street, Anchorage, Alaska Full-time, Temporary Position until approximately 09/30/2009 Range 15/3 - $29.24 EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Conduct clinic services consisting of immunizations, TB treatment, travel education, and blood draws for communicable disease testing and treatment. Coordinates with staff and other agencies to expand immunization efforts in the community. Performs outreach activities to families encouraging them to have their children immunized. Conduct epidemiological follow-up of communicable diseases including case finding and management for individuals with TB infection or disease. Provides community based investigation for state reported cases of infectious disease to deter major epidemiological outbreaks. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SUBSTITUTIONS / SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a State of Alaska Registered Nurse License (in order to be considered a copy of the license must be attached to the application). The DD Form 214 must show an honorable discharge. Minimum Qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration. Accordingly it will be necessary for the selected applicant to provide certain identification information and be fingerprinted. Fingerprint cards must be dated within 30 days from date requested. The processing fee of $54.25 plus the cost of being fingerprinted (variable) is the responsibility of the selected applicant and must be accomplished before beginning work. All required certifications and licenses must remain current for the duration of employment. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Community Health Nursing experience preferred. Prefer experience using electronic medical records.
