ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
„« Lead the recruiting function for the assigned divisions by partnering directly with management to develop, implement and evaluate effective strategies and high quality processes to recruit and attract top talent to Extra Space Storage.
„« A strong emphasis for this role is to make Extra Space Storage a great place to work through recruiting efforts, competency modeling, diversity, training and digitization.
„« Develop and manage effective recruiting tools such as competency modeling, advertisement practices, on-line/internet recruiting, and screening.
„« Develop and manage recruiting programs including on-campus, internships, off-site efforts. (i.e. job fairs, trade shows, etc.)
„« Maintain and implement the hiring processes of internal candidates, minimizing administrative time and efforts while ensuring placement of high quality candidates.
„« Establish effective measurements to analyze cost of hire, cycle time to fill vacancies, diversity efforts, turnover, etc.
„« Proactively identity areas for improvement.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position manages processes and works through District Managers, DLM and other Operations employees to complete their tasks. This position reports to Human Resource Managers.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and experience in various HR functions including staffing/recruiting, training, compensation, benefits, employment laws and regulations (preferably in a non-exempt environment) is preferred.
Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Windows environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong business acumen
Change management skills
Strong organizational and project management skills
Internal applicants must have at least 90 days in
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum: High school diploma or GED. A college degree or significant progress towards a college degree from an accredited institution is strongly preferred. Minimum 2 years in a business or professional environment such as direct sales, retail or customer service is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will generally split time between an office environment and outside work tasks. These outside tasks may need to be performed in either extreme cold or extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation: $32K - $42K salary/yr
