Purpose: Works with the campus Director of Career Services to achieve budgeted objectives and to ensure school compliance with company, state, and accreditation regulations relating to placement, employment advising and related matters. Advises students regarding career issues and strategies, job search methods, resume preparation, internships.
Qualifications: Bachelor degree recommended. Experience in career services preferred or employment background in any of the following: job placement at a vocational school, college, or university; staffing agency; recruiter; government sponsorship agency; or marketing/sales. Must have demonstrable organizational skills. Individual must possess strong oral and written communication proficiency. Position requires exceptional social interaction skills. Consistently display the highest levels of integrity. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and work flexible schedule. Must be professional in all aspects of the position including appearance, demeanor, and attitude. Computer knowledge required.
Reports to: Campus Director of Career Services.
Responsibilities: Required responsibilities and job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
· Assist recent graduates, alumni and current students in career placement related to their education program in accordance with all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal, state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements.
· Maintain placement information and student files placement in accordance with all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal, state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements.
· Develop outreach efforts to potential employers
· Develop and maintain a list of current job and career opportunities for graduating students and alumni.
· Provides ongoing feedback to students regarding individual job search skills.
· Ensure accurate data entry and reporting of all activity into Campus Vue, including notations documenting all career-related activity, conversations, and contact.
· Develop and maintain relationships with employers for the purposes of externship/internship and job placement of graduates.
· Develop job orders from employers, send graduates’ resumes, assist in scheduling interviews, and follow up with employers and graduates.
· Organize job fairs on campus, attend outside job fairs, and arrange on-campus interviews.
· Participate in Professional Development course.
· Provide resources to students and graduates for their job search.
· Timely completion and submission of all required reports for campus Director of Career Services.
· Ensure compliance with company, accreditation, and state guidelines/standards for placement.
· Attend weekly Career Services accountability meeting.
· Participate in new student orientations and attend graduate commencement ceremonies.
· Special projects as assigned by campus Director of Career Services.
· Other duties as required.
Work Hours: Full-time, non-exempt position. Work hours may vary daily and by campus and will be determined by the campus Director of Career Services. Evening and/or weekend hours may be assigned as business requirements and conditions dictate. Occasional travel may be required.
Physical and Mental Demands: Must be able to use a personal computer. Work is fast-paced and challenging, and can be stressful at times. Frequent physical mobility throughout the campus is required.
