Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) is a non-profit charter school management organization designed to significantly increase college entrance and graduation rates for underserved students in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. PUC operates a growing network of small, public charter schools and will create more schools in high-need communities in coming years. Our mission at PUC Schools is to develop and manage high quality charter schools in densely populated urban communities with overcrowded and low achieving schools. We create school programs and cultures that result in college graduation for all students. We uplift and revitalize communities through the development of educational and other supportive partnerships. Job Responsibilities: All functions of HR including and not limited to: • Employee Relations o Assist team members and management with the interpretation and correct application of company policies, procedures, programs and practices, while exercising the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism. o Provide assistance and guidance to managers with discipline concerns o Conduct or assist with investigations o Ensure managers are adhering to our internal policies and procedures • Compliance o Conduct periodic audits of employee files, benefits, time off, etc o Follow up with schools/employees concerning missing documents o Ensure team members are NCLB compliant o Prepare for NCLB audits and financial audit o Keep abreast of new and changing federal and state laws • Recruitment o Send to correspondence to candidates o Retrieve, organize, screen and forward to hiring managers resumes • Hiring/Exiting Process o Process paperwork for new hires o Conduct exit interviews o Process exiting employees • Benefits o Process new enrollments and terminations • Misc. o Assist with developing policies & procedures o Enter information in HR system o Assist with HR events o Gather data and produce reports o Ad hoc assignments o Develop assigned training modules and train when needed o Assess and identify areas where training is needed • Risk Management o Work with HR team to ensure compliance with WC laws and OSHA compliance Qualifications: • BA/BS (MA/MS Preferred) • 3-5 years of HR experience • Knowledge of ABRA desired • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word and Excel • Must be Bi-lingual – English and Spanish • HR Certificate a plus Skills: • Great customer service skills • Ability to multi-task • Team player • Excellent writing skills Location: Burbank, CA Compensation: $40-50 DOE Principals only.
