We are a nice, professional couple with 2 small children looking for a nanny for this Fall. We are probably talking about 15 to 25 hours a week (varies slightly and could increase with the right person). The father is in the medical field and gone a lot, while the mother is in school full-time and will need plenty of help. Our little girl is 4.5 and our little boy is 3. The key issue here is that our little boy has autism. His symptoms are not as bad as you hear about on TV, but he doesnt speak much and is receiving daily in-home therapy. The therapy will actually help you, since they will be dealing with him exclusively while they are there. The therapy takes approximately 4 -5 hours a day and he sleeps for 3 hours, so your interaction time with him may be fairly limited. You would merely need to make sure the little girl doesn't get into trouble and possibly play with her, if you are so-inclined. Education/playing with the children is not expected, but not discouraged either. The primary goal of this is to allow the mother to go to school and occasionally run errands if she needs to - not anything super taxing on you - we hope! :) We would provide you food if there at appropriate times, of course, as well as a reasonable salary. There is a possibility this could become a live-in nanny position in the Fall if you need, and everyone clicks.
