A busy, full service law firm representing primarily institutional clients in a wide variety of business matters, with particular emphasis in this case default bankruptcy, is looking for a Partime, Temporary, paralegal.
The schedule for this position is flexible, with working one or two days a week in the office, with the possibility of working from home. To work from home, you must have high speed internet and dependable phone service.
You will not be reimbursed for these services, but the ability to work from home requires you provide them.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
• Prepares legal documents such as briefs, pleadings and appeals in accordance to attorney’s instructions and prescribed procedures.
• Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, composing and typing correspondence and providing status information to D&G clients and applicable staff.
• Monitor and timely notify assigned attorneys of scheduled events as noted on the firm’s master calendar.
• Ensure client websites are reviewed and updated in accordance to D&G / client requirements.
• Ensure compliance with D&G and clients hourly approval authorization.
• Maintain assigned attorney’s hourly approval spread sheet in accordance to D&G performance standards.
• Ensure proper indexing and filing of legal documents and designated correspondence in the litigation file.
• All Delaware objections
• Daily ECF summary/client updates
• Obtain fee approval for objections/motion for relied appearances
• Review for accuracy and coordinate the execution of pre-sale foreclosure documents to include but not limited to complaints, judgments, lev fac's and affidavits of counsel.
• Coordinate court fillings with Delaware office attorneys and paralegals to ensure compliance to D&G established timelines.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have thorough knowledge and experience in Delaware court procedures.
• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a law firm or other service environment a plus.
• Strong PC and Windows knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work in a deadline-driven environment, demonstrated ability to maintain a customer-service focus and attitude at all times.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and command of the English language.
• Capable of working individually and as part of a team.
