Anchorage PR firm Bernholz & Graham, Inc. seeks an intern with the potential to transition to a full-time account coordinator at the end of the summer. B&G is Alaska’s largest and most respected public relations agency, and our clients and work are known for being fun, fast-paced and very creative. Almost nothing seems impossible to us, and you should have a similar attitude (please temper it with some humility, though, so we can stand to be around you). We are a small, tight-knit group and work very hard, but we also have a blast and any early-career employee will get the chance to be involved in projects and media coups you wouldn’t get within miles of in larger cities and big agencies. Key skills for intern/account coordinators include: the ability to multitask and meet deadlines; a thorough knowledge of and love for Alaska, its people, communities, history, oddities and superlatives; strong writing skills and near-Biblical devotion to AP Style; excellent verbal communication skills, including good phone etiquette; the ability to brainstorm, think creatively and figure things out with minimal direction; solid researching chops; and a winning personality. A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, PR, marketing or a closely related field is preferred. Previous experience in communications, event planning, publishing/graphic design, social marketing, writing or other creative endeavor is a plus. We are looking for someone who is available full-time and are not considering students who are only available for the summer at this time.
