DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST Progressive state wide non-profit seeks self-motivated individual with strong organizational, time-management and coordinator skills to assist in fundraising activities for RurAL CAP projects and programs to assist in fundraising activities for RurAL CAP projects and programs. Expected to participate in all aspects of fundraising including research, writing, targeted networking, proposal submissions, and events with a heavy focus on writing. Also expected to monitor and ensure proposals and other requests are submitted according to guidelines, assist in preparation of progress reports for the department, and provide technical assistance for submitting proposals. Required: BA in English, Journalism, Communications, or comparable study from an accredited college or university or equivalent four years of related professional work experience. Expertise in writing proposals, case statements and concept papers. Expertise with grant management, fundraising research, print or broadcast media, or development of public information. Working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel applications strongly requested. Preferred: Demonstrated relevant education and professional work experience in the non-profit sector and success as a grant writer and fundraiser. Knowledge and/or experience of the issues in rural Alaska preferred. Conditions: $18.36 / hr + DOE + full benefits. Full Time 40 hrs/wk, 52 wks/yr.
