An experienced Director/Teacher is needed for our in-house school program centrally located in DC. This is a 12 month position and will have overall responsibility for developing the school curriculum, classroom instruction and supervising the teacher and ancillary unit stag to ensure appropriate lesson plans, teaching methods and behavior modification techniques are individualized to meet the needs of the students. Will perform educational testing and assessments for all students and classroom management. Serves as a liaison to all area school districts and private schools to ensure that the internal program and its structure meet the needs of the community and assist appropriate school officials in placement of children and adolescents in crisis or at risk. Performs other job related duties as assigned. Master’s Degree in Special Education and current certification /license to teach special education in the DC Public Schools and two (2) years supervisory experience, two years teaching experience with ED/LD/MMR children and adolescents.
