The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is seeking a Senior Grants Specialist to support the Office of Sponsored Programs located at the HJF headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. Responsibilities include: • Providing both preaward and postaward sponsored program administration for units in assigned portfolio. • Providing assistance in proposal preparation activities, managing administrative activities, assuring compliance with agreements, and coordinating and preparing closeout activities. • Assisting investigators to conduct funding searches and preparing more complicated grant applications. • Reviewing grant applications prior to submission. • Project management including assisting with rebudgeting and assuring that funding agency reporting requirements are met. • Reviewing awards to assure terms and conditions are applicable to project and acceptable to Foundation. • Developing and negotiating more complicated subawards and contracts for service. • Conducting meetings with Principal Investigators, Sponsored Research Administrators, and department chairs. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Incumbents must have: • Experience with preaward and postaward research administration in an academic setting with the ability to interpret and understand Federal (e.g., NIH, NSF, OMB Circulars A-122, A-110, and A-133) and non-Federal regulations and operations. • Ability to become proficient on PeopleSoft Grants and Financials software. • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field). • 3 to 5 years directly related experience, preferably, in grants management at a university, medical school, or nonprofit institution.
