Hardwood floors are preferred, but as long as utilities aren't expensive and the apartment is vintage-ish with on-site laundry, I'll take what I can get for the price I seek. I have a well-trained 30 pound Catahoula Leopard dog/Mini-Australian Shepherd mix from the Humane Society; she's not a barker or a whiner, she's probably the friendliest dog in the world (I named her Amity, quite fitting), and she doesn't chew or scratch anything and never has.
