The pitch: Come live with us in our rented house in the beautiful Buckman neighborhood in SE! :) Our beloved housemate is moving out, and we are seeking a third to fill her room. Us: We are a boy and a girl both in our late twenties. We both work food service jobs, so we're both gone during the day usually. We are old friends and have known each other since we went to high school together. We're mellow and easy going, quiet and clean for the most part. Communication is important to us both. Neither of us are really party animals, we like to cook dinner together every once in a while or just chill out and watch a movie. We love music and travel and art and living in Portland in general. We are stoked for summer and have taken to playing frisbee or shooting some hoops at the park when the sun pops out, but neither of us are any good... Just your average kids living and loving life... :) The meow: By the way, I do have a cat. She is a furry love muffin and if you like cats, you will adore her... but unfortunately we can't have any more pets, sorry! The place: The house is divided into a first floor apartment and a second floor apartment, which is where we are. Upstairs! Yay great views! It is conveniently located near great eats, bars, bus lines and the rest of P-town. Our landlady likes to describe it as "historical", but really it's just smallish, old and cozy (in a charming sort of way). It has all hardwood floors, with plenty of storage space. The backyard is perfect for hanging out in in the summer. It has a little garden and is a great spot to bbq, etc. We have a washer and dryer in the basement and a big front porch for loafing on. All of the common spaces (i.e. yard, basement, porch...) are shared with the downstairs neighbors, but they mostly keep to themselves. The costs: The room is the smallest and therefore the cheapest ($430). Utilities are split three ways and generally average about $40/month throughout the year. The deposit is $333 (i.e., 1/3 of 1000), which doesn't have to be paid immediately (we know how expensive moving can be!).The room will be available July 1st and the rental agreement is currently on a month-to-month basis. You: Please be clean, responsible and open-minded. We are drama-free and want to keep the house a loving, respectful space. So write us and tell us a bit about yourself.
