One of the nations leading science museums and a world class tourist attraction is seeking an Audio-Visual Network Technician. Job responsibilities include, but aren't limited to, coordinating usage of audiovisual equipment in support of museum events and assisting in network operations maintenance and troubleshooting, including end-user support. This job requires significant time flexibility and a committed problem-solving attitude. Working Conditions: •This position has a variable work schedule, which includes evening and weekend hours. •Lifting up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: •Manage audiovisual system in auditorium, working with Event Sales staff in scheduling usage of system, monitoring events, and occasional site tours, etc. •Maintain critical and confidential aspects of all computer and information management systems. •Rotational 24-hour on-call duties for critical systems. •Support the administration and maintenance of all LAN/WAN systems of the museum and associated workstations, various databases, PBX and voicemail systems as well as all servers, along with other members of the IS team. •Participate in technical activities, reporting status and recommendations as appropriate KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ ABILITY: REQUIREMENTS: •Technical knowledge of audiovisual system components, stage lighting, sound systems and related equipment •Video production skills, including recording, lighting, editing, etc. •Experience in development and maintenance of social media websites •Solid understanding of workstation applications, such as MS Office Suite, Windows 2000 (server and workstation) and Windows XP •Basic understanding of networking concepts •Excellent oral, written, communication, and documentation skills, and the ability to independently prioritize user needs in accordance with guidelines for museum priorities; •Ability to identify and solve technical equipment problems in a time-constrained environment •Ability to communicate clearly and concisely •Ability to work shifts as necessary •Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE: REQUIREMENTS: •High school diploma or GED or any combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job •Minimum of 2 years of audiovisual and networking experience •Experience in troubleshooting problems under tight deadlines •Vocational college training or equivalent in technical area of audio visual systems and two years experience in operation functions of a live entertainment facility or equivalent combination of education and experience ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES; INCLUDING LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: REQUIREMENTS: •Pre-employment checks such as a criminal background check and reference checks.
