Greetings! I must move in July (by July 14th, though the 1st would be better). My roommates just got married, and when they get back from their honeymoon they'd like their house to themselves. Hopefully the rest of this is straightforward enough. I'm looking for any good, long-term living situation with positive people that clean up after themselves in common spaces and don't feel at liberty to eat my food or use my belongings. I'm a very generous person, but I prefer to bestow my benevolence at will rather (by making dinner/tea/coffee/breakfast/etc., for instance) than have it requested of me, if you know what I mean. I guess that means that I want to share on my own terms (without being expected to), and people that tend to ask [often] to borrow my things or eat my food will inevitably feel like space invaders (pun intended). Ideally, we'd become friends, but that's certainly not a requirement. As a romantic who appreciates all aspects of life and is endeared to all kinds of people, I will end up greatly appreciating whatever living situation I end up in, whether it's more on the communal end, one that allows for more solitude, or anything inbetween. I'm currently working on my master's degree in Library Science. I'm 25 (though inwardly I'm older), single, straight, omnivorous, agnostic, open, respectful, and considerate. I don't smoke or do drugs, but I wouldn't mind living with outdoor smokers or people who enjoy an occasional spliff. I drink light and socially. I lead a quiet life free of drama and theatrics while remaining adventurous. Character is all that matters to me in regards to myself and others, which makes me not just a malleable human being, but also an excellent roommate. I'm one of those people that cleans on autopilot, so I like things to be ungrimy and tidy, and I don't want the hassle of things being perpetually broken around the house. If you're sloppy/slobby we likely won't be an ideal fit, but on the other hand I have done a sort of maid-service in lieu of utilities before, with happy results. A fenced yard would be absolutely great, particularly if it had a patio or porch, as I like to sit outside and eat breakfast/drink coffee or tea/think/read/play with my 3 year old Catahoula Leopard/Mini-Australian Shepherd, Amity. My dog is probably the friendliest/goofiest/sweetest/most submissive dog you'll ever meet. She's not barky or whiny, she doesn't chew, scratch, or dig, and she obeys orders. She loves all animals, even cats, having grown from puppydom with a kitten (they were best friends), and then later living with two full grown cats. I think I can objectively say I've never met a better dog, as I've raised quite a few. Also, pretty much everyone I know has begged me to dog-sit for her, and I think she's been the clincher in a number of roommate situations. She's great. Hardwood floors are preferred, but some less hideous carpeting might be OK, as long as it isn't depressing and there's a vacuum handy. My own bathroom would be great, but that's certainly not a requirement. I do have a bedroom set (bed, wardrobe, dresser, nightstand) and a desk, but beyond some outdoor rugs, some dishes (particularly lots of tea components), and a few boxes to store, I don't have much stuff to add. I usually pay rent three months at a time, and always on time. WiFi/laundry/shower and indoor space for my bicycle are necessities, as is a walkable neighborhood. Like the title says, I'd like to pay $500 flat (i.e. utilities included) or less; $550 at the very most, including wintry months. The flat rate is ideal-but-negotiable, though I think oil heating is definitely out of the question without it. I've got references if you need them. If all of this is sounding good and you want to learn more about what I'm like/what I like/see if we run in the same circles: myspace.com/sweetadeleine, facebook.com/sweetadeleine Feel free to email me with any inquiries, and please be as detailed as possible about the residence in question, including providing an address. Thanks! Adeleine P.S. Please note: I am not interested in paying for/using television service or a landline, sorry! cats are OK - purrr dogs are OK - wooof Location: Within the 50th block, any corner, NE/SE it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests oregon
